HDR Playback Support Coming to Google Chrome for Android
Google Chrome for Android is all set to get a new update soon which will bring in support for HDR Playback on videos playing in the browser. This update will ensure that you are able to play the latest video formats and in the quality they are supposed to be viewed at!
Over the past few months, Google has slowly been introducing support for HDR Playback in various services. YouTube began supporting HDR uploads a few months ago, followed by Google Pixel devices supporting HDR playbacks. Eventually, this also came to Google Play Movies as well as Chromecast Ultra too. Reports from XDA now indicate that HDR Playback is coming to Google Chrome for Android next.
Following an upcoming update, Google Chrome will be able to extract HDR metadata and play it on supported devices. While it’s unlikely to be a feature that is of great use – it is indeed a welcome update from Google, ensuring the users get the latest standards in technology.
