8 Must Have IFTTT Applets for Android You Simply Can’t Miss
There are many apps to automate tasks on your Android phone, and IFTTT is probably the best app for this purpose. If you are an IFTTT user or interested in task automation, then I know a bunch of handy IFTTT applets (recipes) that you’ll surely like.
Whether you want to automatically manage your WiFi, change the wallpaper, or auto-backup your call logs and messages, there is an applet for that. Below you’ll find 8 of my favorite IFTTT applets for Android.
A very simple applet to help you save battery. The applet will notify you to turn off WiFi whenever you are away from WiFi. Your device keeps searching for nearby WiFi connections when WiFi is on, which consumes battery power. This applet will ensure your WiFi stays disconnected when not needed.
If you are like me and usually keep your phone in silent or vibrate mode, then this applet will be a lifesaver for you. If you lose your phone while it’s silent, then the good old method of making a call to it won’t help. With this applet active, you just need to text yourself “lostphone” and its ringer will be set to maximum. You can then easily call it and find it.
A simple applet to switch your wallpaper every day with NASA’s astronomy picture of the day. If you like astronomy, then this applet will be perfect to mesmerize you every day with amazing pictures of the galaxy. There are also similar applets to use Wikipedia picture of the day or your latest Instagram picture.
Not everyone may find this applet useful, but it’s astonishingly time-saving if it’s of use to you. If you want to have a backup of all the screenshots you take on your phone, then this applet will automatically send them to your email address to access from any device. I personally use this to easily access my mobile screenshots from the desktop.
You can use this applet to create a custom message for a specific contact so whenever you’ll miss a call from them, the custom message will be sent to them. It can be very useful to pacify someone important.
6. Automatically turn up the volume on your Android phone when you miss a call from a specific number
You can preset important people from whom you don’t want to miss a call. And whenever their call will miss, your phone ringer will be set to maximum to ensure you get the call the next time they call. You can also use it to find your phone when it’s silent by calling it twice from a preset number.
The applet uses your location to turn off your WiFi whenever you leave your home. It can be a great tool to save power if you don’t connect to outside WiFi. There is another similar applet from the same developer that automatically turns on WiFi when you get back home. You can use both of these applets together to fully automate WiFi management.
If you want to create a backup of your text messages or need a simpler interface to view them in one place, then use this applet. It will backup all your received text messages in a Google Spreadsheet with all their content. You can easily view them in one place instead of opening each one separately.
These were just some of my favorite IFTTT applets for Android, there are hundreds of more applets available for Android if you want to try out more. And don’t forget you can also create your own applets according to your need, it’s really simple.
Which one of these IFTTT applets you’ll be using? Do let us know in the comments.
