Get Cool Profile Pictures For Your Google Account Using Google Illustrations
The picture on your Google account is viewable across all of the Google services you use. If you don’t want to use your personal picture for privacy or any other reason, then it’s still possible to keep things interesting using Google Illustrations. Google Illustrations is a library of artful pictures that you can freely use and set as your profile picture for your Google account. Best of all, it’s integrated into Google services so you can access it right from your Google account.
Not only that, each image can be customized so you could give personal touches to these images to make a truly custom profile picture. Now how can you access Google Illustrations and spice up your Google account profile? Well, keep reading and I’ll show you how step-by-step.
Using Google Illustrations to get custom profile images
Although you can access this feature from any Google app or service where Google account profile button is available, for instruction I am going to use Gmail.
Step 1: Sign in to your Gmail account.
Step 2: Afterward, tap on your profile picture at the top-right corner. It will show your name’s first letter if no profile image is set.
Step 3: Next you need to tap again on the icon or your current profile pic with a small camera icon.
Step 4: Now tap on the “Add profile picture” button at the bottom of your screen.
Step 5: Next you need to select the “Illustrations” tab, if not selected already. You can type in the name of your required image in the search box or swipe left to explore more images in the “Start Exploring” section, or can also swipe up for even more categories, as highlighted in the screenshot below.
Step 6: Once you have decided which image to use as your profile picture, tap on it. This will open your chosen image, which you can customize further in the following three ways.
Step 6A: The first customization you can do to your image is to apply the different filters.
Step 6B: The second customization you can do is to change the color of the different parts or components of the image you selected. The options you see here will depend upon the image you chose.
Step 6C: The third and last customization that you can apply to your image is to crop and rotate it as per the requirement.
Step 7: Once you are happy with your customizations, tap on the “Save as profile picture” button. Google will notify you that your changes are being saved.
Step 8: Your Google profile picture is now updated and you will be notified the change will be applied across all your Google services soon. Tap on the “Got It” button here.
Step 9: The process of using Google Illustrations to customize your Google profile picture is now complete and you will see the last page as shown below.
