How To Enable The Hidden LED Notification Light in Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are the hottest Android phones in the market right now. Google’s latest release, the two phones were announced earlier this month. A polarizing set of devices, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have a rather curious feature – a hidden LED notification light.
This hidden notification light isn’t really new because the original Google Pixel too, had a hidden notification light which was later enabled using the phone’s settings. The gen-next Pixel phones too have it.
Darren Gloster, a tech enthusiast from UK has managed to lay hands upon an early review unit of the Google Pixel 2. He claims that the phone does have a hidden LED notification light. It is turned off by default but it can be turned on by the users.
Considering that the phones come with an always-on OLED display, there’s no real need of a LED notification light. However it does make things interesting as it allows the users to set different colors for different sort of notifications and can tell you at one glance if there’s something that you need to check out on an urgent basis. Let us now take a look at how to enable this hidden notification light on the Google Pixel 2.
How To Enable The Hidden LED Notification Light in the Google Pixel 2
In order to enable the hidden LED notification light on your Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, all you need to do is –
- Head over to settings
- Navigate to Apps and Notifications
- Select Notifications
- Turn the toggle next to the ‘Blink Light’ on – this will prompt the phone to show the notification light any time there’s a new notification.
Certain apps also allow you to set custom colors to trigger when notifications arrive. This is a handy feature which you can make use of!
