Reminders for Replies and Follow Ups Added to Inbox by Gmail
Google introduced Inbox by Gmail in October 2014. The app is about to hit the three year mark but a majority of users still prefer the classic Gmail app. Inbox is basically a redesigned Gmail which offers not only changes in design, but also some cool new features.
The latest update to the Inbox by Gmail Android app comes today as a new feature now reminds you to follow up on e-mails. Moreover, you will also be reminded to reply to e-mails you might have forgotten about. Let us take a closer look at this new feature in Inbox.
Sometimes during an e-mail conversation one tends to miss a beat, especially if either of the parties are getting a lot of mails. While some people intentionally do not reply to e-mails, there are others who might forget due to the hectic pace of the work, or because the mails are buried under a pile of mails.
With this new update to Inbox by Gmail, if you have not received replies on a mail you would be notified with a reminder like: “Sent 4 days ago. Follow up?” This is a really cool feature from Inbox by Gmail.
Similar to follow-up reminders, but reverse. Sometimes your inbox might be flooded with e-mails and you might miss replying on an older e-mail. Inbox by Gmail will now remind you if you would like to send a reply to a mail from a few days ago.
How to Enable These Reminders on Inbox by Gmail
- In order to enable these reminders make sure that your app is updated to the latest version of.
- Go to settings, you would find a new section there ‘Assists’. Tap on ‘Replies and Follow-Ups’
- Over there you would see two options – ‘Suggest emails to reply to’ and ‘Suggest emails to follow up on’
- You can enable or disable the two features individually from there.
This is a good feature from the app which will ensure that the flow of communication is smooth.
