How to Take Screenshot in Browser’s Incognito Mode on Android
Incognito modes or private browsing modes are now available as standard features in almost all Android browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.
While in incognito mode, these browsers don’t allow you to take a screenshot of the web pages because incognito modes are designed to maintain privacy.
However, sometimes you might have to take screenshots while using your browser in incognito mode and being unable to do it can be a problem.
Luckily there are methods you can use to take screenshots while in incognito mode of popular Android browsers, and I am going to explain each technique in detail.
Taking screenshots in Chrome’s incognito mode
Chrome is the default web browser for most Android devices, so it makes sense why it is the go-to web browser for most Android users.
And unsurprisingly, Chrome doesn’t save screenshots in incognito mode by default unless you tweak some settings. So if you want to take screenshots while in incognito mode of Chrome, you will have to follow these steps:
Step 1. Open the Chrome browser in your Android device and type Chrome://flags in the address bar available at the top of the browser screen and tap go.
Step 2. While in the Chrome Flags page, tap the search bar at the top, type Incognito Screenshot in the search bar, and tap go.
Step 3. In the Incognito Screenshot screen, tap the drop-down menu and tap on the Enabled option.
Step 4. Now tap on the relaunch button available at the bottom right of the screen, and when Chrome relaunches, you will be able to take screenshots.
Note: If you ever want to disable the option to take screenshots in incognito mode of your Chrome browser, simply disable the incognito screenshots option on this flags page.
Taking screenshots in Firefox’s private tabs
Like Chrome, the Firefox browser also prevents you from taking screenshots while having private Tabs opened. However, bypassing this security measure is easier in Firefox. You can do so right from the Firefox settings, here’s how:
Step 1. Tap on the three dots menu available at the bottom of Firefox’s home screen and then tap on the Settings option from the menu.
Step 2. In the settings menu, find the Private browsing option and tap on it.
Step 3. In the Private browsing option, toggle the switch next to Allow screenshots in private browsing to on. That’s it. Now you will be able to take screenshots even when using the private tabs of your Firefox browser.
Note: Disabling the permission to take screenshots in private tabs is as simple as enabling it. All you have to do is follow the steps mentioned above and toggle the switch next to Allow screenshots in private browsing off.
Taking screenshots in incognito mode of Opera browser
Opera is another popular Android browser that is similar to other major browsers prohibits users from taking screenshots in incognito mode using the regular methods.
However, if you want to take a screenshot in incognito mode of the Opera browser, it doesn’t require you to enable any settings. You simply have to follow these steps to take a screenshot while in incognito mode of your Opera browser:
Step 1. Open your Opera browser and tap on the tabs option available at the bottom of the home page.
Step 2. Now select the Private option available at the top of the screen since your browser opens in the normal tab by default.
Step 3. Now open a web page of your choice you want to take a screenshot of by typing in the address of the webpage in the address bar.
Step 4. With the webpage open, tap on the three dots menu available in the top right corner of the screen and tap on the Take snapshot option.
Since this process doesn’t involve enabling any settings in the Opera browser you don’t have to disable anything once you have taken the screenshot in the incognito tab.
While the restriction of taking a screenshot while in private or incognito mode might be an inconvenience for most users, it is only put in place by the developers to protect your privacy. However, bypassing these restrictions is not difficult now that you know the methods to take screenshots in incognito modes of popular Android browsers.
