Google’s Next Pixelbook Might Be An Automatic Opening Laptop
Based on observations from some recent patent filings, it looks like Google is working on an automatic opening laptop. Google’s gen-next Pixelbook may come out into the markets with a motor attached on the hinge of the laptop which will allow the users to simply stand or sit around the laptop while it automatically opens up and aligns itself.
This is an interesting innovation the company is working upon as this is something which has been around for years without any real innovation. The first laptop ever created had a lid which needed to be opened up and the latest laptop to come out will have it working in the same manner. However, this automatic opening laptop might be a first from Google soon!
What Does Google’s Automatic Opening Laptop Technology Do?
Google’s patented new technology will allow the laptop to automatically open up and do either of these things:
- Automatically know when you are around with the help of a camera placed on the back and open up and adjust itself, prepared for you to use it. It can be unfolded or woken up from standby when you’re around.
- Another possibility of this automatic opening laptop is that it will automatically adjust to the perfect viewing angle based on the person standing in front of the laptop.
- It would also be possible to automatically lock the laptop if anyone other than the intended user is facing it.
The patent shows that the hinge of the laptop will be the are where this motorized drive would be placed. However, as of now it isn’t really sure how Google will achieve this with an automatic opening laptop as the hinge is usually the most delicate part of any laptop.
Moreover, it must also be kept in mind that while a patent of an automatic opening laptop has been spotted, it does not necessarily mean that it will be released immediately, or released at all. However, it is interesting to see Google innovate the way we know laptops to be!
