How the advancement of technology has changed your life? What all you were not able to do before is now possible here in this evolving country? What are the problems you face? Your Hopes. Your Worries. The need for a Change.

How to Participate?
All you need is to take out your camera on 10th of October, film out an entire story and upload it to http://indiainaday.withgoogle.com.

You can use any camera but have to record at 16:9 ratio at 25 frames‐per‐second. Make sure you shoot in landscape mode. You can film yourself, your friends or anyone you need in your story but make sure to get their permission by having them sign an Appearance Release Form that you get from the website.

You can film your video anywhere you want, be it your home, your school, your office or any other place you like. At last upload your original uncompressed, unedited footage to the website.

What are the rules?

  • Your video should be recorded on 10th October only.
  • You should have all the permissions regarding location, actors and creative idea.
  • You can submit your video(s) from 10th October to 17th October.
  • Only raw unedited videos are allowed without any background music.
  • You can upload as many videos you want.

Read all the rules from FAQ and Terms and Conditions page.

If selected by the panel of filmmakers, your clip will be featured in a feature length film with your name in the credits as a ‘Co – Director’ that will hit the screens next year.

The aim is to produce a crowdsourced full-length user-generated movie shot in a single day that captures the story of evolving India as seen through your eyes.

The film will be directed by Richie Mehta, famous for his ‘I’ll follow you down’ with Ridley Scott and Anurag Kashyap as the Executive producers. R.Balki, Shekhar Kapur and Zoya Akhtar will serve as creative consultants.

Mehta said: “This project is so personal to me, as I believe film is a perfect way to showcase what makes India so extraordinary.”

The film showcases your point of view regarding living in India, capturing real essence of the country in just a single day. The objective of this Google initiative is to capture the life in India in 2015 with a focus on how technology is changing the lives of millions of people of this nation. Perhaps, this is also part of recent Digital India campaign.
