Google Wallet Updated: Reminders, Multi-Person Requests, Android Messages Support Introduced

The Google Wallet has been among one of the most ambitious projects from Google. It was one of their first moves towards integrating payments technology and the company continues to develop it and add new features. Reportedly, Google is now working on adding more features to their wallet app.

New Features in Google Wallet

Google’s Wallet app has received a slight redesign, which brings forward some visual enhancements. Moreover, new features are also about to be added to the app, such as: Reminders, Multi-Person Requests, Android Messages support and more. Here’s a detailed look:

The Google Wallet app is getting a number of visual changes. These aren’t any major changes or enhancements but small tweaks which are likely to be noticed only be those who frequently make use of this app. When it comes to transaction details, the level of detail has been improved, as seen above.

Multi-Person Requests

Similar to other payments app, Google Wallet too allows the users to send requests to other users who owe them money. However sometimes there are situations where you owe money from multiple people. For example you’re going out with a group of 5 friends and you make the payment for all of them. You can now send all five of your friends a request at the same time instead of having to send individual requests like in the past.

Reminders

Another new feature which is all set to debut with this new and improved Google Wallets app is that of ‘Reminders’. These Reminders will remind you to make payments or request payments on due dates. There’s also a provision to set it up as a periodic transaction if it is something you need to do frequently.

Integration with Android Messages

Another update to the Google Wallets app brings in an integration with Android Messages too. While it isn’t really clear as to how this integration will function but it is likely that it will allow the users to send or request money over the messaging app.
