Google Photography Prize Contest for Students
Google has recently announced its first Photography Prize competition for students all over the world. In partnership with Saatchi Gallery of London, the Google team is seeking photographs in selected categories that will inspire and encourage art. This is excellent opportunity for students to get their work noticed and win exciting prices like Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone, a trip to Saatchi Gallery of London or a photography trip with a professional photography coach. The submission closes on 31st January 2012.
The contest is open only for the students of age 18 or older around the world (except for few countries) because Google believes that the student community would be keen to accept the challenge and they wanted to inculcate and promote photography. This might be another plan to promote Google Plus, which claims to more than 3.4 billion pictures uploaded in initial 100 days. Needless to say, Google Plus has amazing photo managing and editing capabilities which they would like to showcase through this contest.
