How to Change Profile Picture on Google Chrome

Google keeps making the life of its users easier by introducing new and better features. Chrome profiles are not a new thing for Chrome users. People have been using them to keep their history and bookmarks separate.
Google Chrome started offering a new feature, where on each restart of Chrome, you are prompted to log in to your profile or create a new one. With a few easy steps, you can change the theme color and the profile picture/avatar. You can even browse as a guest if you like. All this has drastically enhanced the user experience for Chrome.
In this article, I will discuss few easy steps for changing the avatar on your profile. I will even go one step further and discuss how to use a custom profile picture.
Selecting a preset avatar
In this section, you will learn how to change your avatar by selecting one from the list of avatars, given by Chrome. There are two ways by which you can do that:
First method
The first method is as follows:
Launch Google Chrome on your PC.
Click on the profile for which you want to change the profile picture.
In the upper right corner, click on the three-dot menu.
From the menu that opens up, click “Settings”.
In the “You and Google” section, click on “Customize your Chrome profile”. Here, you can set/change your name, your profile’s theme color, and your profile picture or avatar.
Scroll down until you reach the section named “Pick an avatar”.
Select whichever avatar you want to use as your new profile picture.
Restart Chrome. You will see that your newly selected profile picture is there on your profile.
Second method
In the second method, launch Chrome and click on the profile icon in the upper right corner.
On the menu that opens up, click on the “Manage profiles” icon.
It will open up the “Who’s using Chrome” page. Click on the three-dot menu on your profile and click “edit.”
You will get to the Customize profile page. There you can change your name, theme color, and profile picture as previously mentioned.
Restart the browser and you will see the newly set picture on your profile.
Using custom profile picture
There is also a simple method by which you can easily use your own picture on Chrome’s profile. Being a service of Google, Chrome uses the profile picture on your Google account when synchronization is enabled,
So, the solution is to change the Google account’s profile picture. The steps for this are as follows:
Launch Google Chrome on your computer.
Go to Google.com.
In the upper right corner, click on the profile icon.
Click on “Manage your Google Account”.
In the left panel, you will see a “Personal Info” option, click on it.
In the “Basic info” section on the newly opened page, you will find your profile picture icon. Click on that and then hit “Change”.
You will get a prompt to use “Google Photos”, “Upload” from your device or use the “Camera”. Choose whichever option suits you the best.
Bonus tip
If after doing all of these steps, you are still not seeing your changed profile picture, just press ctrl+h on your keyboard.
On the page that opens, click on “Clear browsing data” in the left panel.
A prompt will open up, check the “Cached images and files” option, and hit “clear data”.
Restart your browser. The issue would be fixed.
Ending thoughts
In my experience, this feature of keeping separate profiles with different theme colors and profile pictures is quite handy.
It is of great use if your PC has several users. You can easily keep your work organized. You can even keep your history and bookmarks separate that tidy up everything.

How to add the picture in to “pick an avatar for the avatar no por the google account
This was great information, Karrar. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
If anyone is wanting to clear the “Cached images and files” or the “web browser cache” in Chrome on a Mac, look under the “Chrome” menu and find “Clear Browsing Data…”, or use the “Help” menu and type in “clear” and the menu containing the “Clear Browsing Data” option will be pointed out (in case it moves in the future). Hope that helps someone out. Aloha.
I don’t like the “cheesy” profile avatars that Google made for my account login screen. Is there a way to upload a custom avatar instead of a watermelon? (LOL) I have several business accounts that I log into from one computer and I would like to be able to use my own images if possible.
Google knows best.
i still dont know how to put pictures from gallery
Complete waste of time! I want to add a photo to the Google Avatar data bank so that I can choose it as a new profile picture. Pretty simple question, huh? How the fuck do you do that? Your teck people are the worst! they don’t live in the real world. They just write code for themselves. They have no common sense.
