Today Google is celebrating the first ever demonstration date of telescope by Galileo Galilei. And there is also a special doodle for Independence day of Uruguay.


On 25th August 1609, Galileo Galilei the famous Italian physicist and astronomer displayed the first telescope to the world. However, telescopes were invented long before but Galileo’s telescope was special in terms of technology and power and even Jupiter’s moons can be observed by it. [more]

Uruguay, a small country located in the southeastern part of South America got its Independence on 25th August 1825. However, Google logo is same as they used for Ecuador and Bolivia this year. [wiki page]
